Prophet Nuh (AS) and the Great Flood
Have you ever tried to do something good, even when almost no one listened? Prophet Nuh (AS) called his people to Allah for hundreds of years with incredible patience. Let’s follow his story — from his gentle calling, to the mighty Ark, to the great flood.
🌟 A Prophet Who Never Gave Up
Qur’anProphet Nuh (AS) was sent by Allah to invite his people to worship only Allah, and to stop worshipping idols. The Qur’an tells us just how long he patiently called his people:
That means Nuh (AS) spent about 950 years inviting people to goodness — gently, patiently, again and again. Even when most people didn’t listen, he never stopped trying. That takes incredible sabr (patience — staying steady and calm while doing what is right, even when it’s hard).
🛶 Building the Ark
Qur’anAfter so many years, only a small number of people believed in Nuh’s (AS) message. Allah then commanded him to build a large ship — the Ark — to save the believers and pairs of animals from a great flood that was coming.
Nuh (AS) and the believers built the Ark exactly as Allah guided them — trusting completely in Allah’s plan, even though it may have seemed strange to build a huge ship far from any sea. This is a beautiful example of tawakkul (trusting Allah while also doing your very best).
🌊 The Flood and the Rescue
Qur’anWhen the time came, Allah sent the great flood. Nuh (AS) invited his own son to come aboard the Ark, but his son chose to run toward a mountain instead, thinking it would protect him. Sadly, he did not survive the flood.
Only those who boarded the Ark and trusted in Allah’s command were saved. This teaches us that true safety comes from obedience to Allah — not just from family ties or worldly plans.
