The Prophet said, save water when bathing
Husna and his friends were bathing in the river.
Even though they bathe in the river, they still use the water as needed.
Not excessive.
Message of the Prophet Muhammad
Don’t use too much water, even if you are in a flowing river.
(HR. Muslim)

Shaikh ‘Ali Jum’ah in his work “al-Bii’ah wa al-Hifazhu ‘alaihaa min Manzhur Islamiyy” explains the importance of preserving water.
First: The Prophet Muhammad SAW prohibit us from polluting the water.
From Jabir radhiyallahu ‘anhu, from the Prophet SAW: that he forbade water that was not flowing to be polluted or unclean thrown there. (HR. Muslim)
Two: The Prophet Muhammad SAW instructs us to protect food and drink from small animals that may carry germs to the food.
The basis is the hadith narrated by al-Bukhari,
Turn off the lanterns when you want to sleep, close the door (when sleeping), tie up drink containers, and cover food and drink, even if you just put wood on top.
Third: The Prophet Muhammad SAW prohibits us from breathing into drink containers or blowing on them as explained in the hadith narrated by Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidi, and Ibn Majah.

Fourth: The Prophet Muhammad SAW every time he drinks he doesn’t take more than three sips and then stops.
And the Prophet SAW. prohibit drinking directly in large gulps.
Regarding this prohibition, the Prophet SAW. He wants his people not to follow the behavior of Bedouin Arabs who like to drink in one gulp.
This way of drinking causes water droplets to trickle out from between his mouth and wet his beard.
Fifth: The Prophet Muhammad SAW forbade us from excessive use of water, even if the use of water is related to matters of worship.
This is as stated in the hadith narrated by Ibn Majah from Abdullah bin ‘Amr,
From ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr radhiyallahu ‘anhu: that the Prophet Saw. once passed in front of Sa’ad, and he was performing ablution. Rasulullah immediately spoke: “Why are you exaggerating like this, O Sa’ad?” Sa’ad answered: “In ablution there is too much (prohibition) too?” Rasul Saw. said: “Yes, even if you (make ablution) with flowing river water!”
