Message of the Prophet Muhammad
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم – – إِذَا اِنْتَعَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالْيَمِينِ, وَإِذَا نَزَعَ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالشِّمَالِ, وَلْتَكُنْ اَلْيُمْنَى أَوَّلَهُمَا تُنْعَلُ, وَآخِرَهُمَا تُنْزَعُ –
From it (from ‘Ali radhiyallahu ‘anhu), he said that the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said, “When one of you wears sandals, he should put his right foot first. Meanwhile, if he wants to let go, he should put his left foot first. Make the right foot the first to put on the sandal, and the last to take it off.”
The Prophet said, the etiquette of wearing and taking off footwear
(HR. Bukhari, no. 5856 and Muslim, no. 2097) [This hadith was narrated by Imam Al-Bukhari in the Book of Al-Libas, Chapter removing the left sandal]

When putting on shoes, put the right one first, and when taking them off, put the left one first.
Abu Hurairah ra. revealed, Rasul Shaw said: When you put on shoes or sandals, start with the right one, and if you take them off, start with the left one. Use both (right and left) at once, and remove both at the same time.
