Hands Become Stiff When Killing the Prophet Muhammad
(QS. Al-Rad [13] : 13)
From Ibn Abbas ra that Arbad Ibnu Qais and Amir Ibn Thufail came to Medina to kill the Prophet Muhammad.
However, suddenly his hand which was holding the sword suddenly became stiff. He couldn’t draw a sword. Arbad also did not kill the Prophet Muhammad.
After failing to kill, they both went to Raqm, a place in Medina. There, Allah then sent lightning to Arbad Ibnu Qais until he was burned to the ground.
Meanwhile, on Amir Ibnu Thufail, Allah inflicted a serious disease of smallpox on him until he died.
Regarding this incident, Allah SWT said, “And Allah releases lightning, then falls it on whom He wishes, and they argue about Allah, and He is the Lord Who is Severe in punishment.” (QS. Al-Rad [13] : 13) ***
